Why is my Carbon GT stuck in ECO mode or slowing down after 16kph?Updated a day ago
If your Carbon GT drops into ECO mode when accelerating or going over 16kph, this usually points to a battery issue. The board is likely entering a soft LIMP mode to protect itself.
To properly assess what’s going on, we’ll need to see your battery cell data. Here’s how to perform an R2 Remote Cell Test:
📋 How to Perform an R2 Remote Cell Test
1. Inflate your tyres
If you’re using All Terrain wheels, inflate them to 45 PSI.
(Low pressure affects test results.)
2. Fully charge your board
3. Pair your board and remote
Turn both on and make sure they connect.
4. Enter cell diagnostic mode
Set your board to FAST or GT mode.
Double-click the ON/OFF button on your remote to open the menu.
Scroll down to ‘More Info’ and click the ON/OFF button to select.
Now, hold the UP/MODE1 button and at the same time double-click the ON/OFF button.
You’ll now see a screen showing:
Total voltage
Amperage draw
Individual voltage readings for each of the 10 cells
5. Take a photo of this screen
6. Conduct a load test
Ride the board uphill and aim to hit 20 amps for 10 seconds.
Take a photo or video of the screen while riding.
7. Send both sets of photos or video to us
This helps our tech team determine if a battery cell is dropping under load, which often triggers the ECO mode issue you’re seeing.
Still unsure? Send us what you’ve got and we’ll walk you through the next steps.
