Why Can’t I Change Speed Modes on My Remote?Updated 8 days ago

If you’re unable to switch speed modes on your remote, there are a couple of possible causes — and we’ll walk you through what to check first.

1. You Might Need a Trigger Reset

Sometimes the remote’s trigger values may be out of range. This means the remote may falsely detect that the throttle or brake is being pressed — and if that’s the case, it won’t let you change modes.

Solution:

Try performing a trigger reset or recalibration. This can often sort the issue quickly, especially on the R2 or Phaze remotes.

2. There Could Be a Brake Trigger Issue

If a reset doesn’t help, the brake trigger may be physically damaged. Possible issues include:

  • A loose or broken spring

  • A dislodged magnet

  • A snapped internal mount that holds the magnet

  • Any other internal failure in the remote’s mechanism

If this sounds like what’s going on, the remote will need to come in for repair. Our tech team can inspect it and get things sorted quickly.
