Which Motor Controller Do I Need?Updated 12 days ago

The motor controller is the brain of your electric skateboard — interpreting throttle and brake signals from your remote and sending the right amount of power to your motors. Without it, there’s no movement, no braking, and definitely no carving.

What Does a Motor Controller Do?

It regulates speed and direction. As soon as you accelerate or brake, the motor controller translates that signal into power for your motors. It controls:

  • Throttle response

  • Braking strength

  • Speed limits

  • Communication between the board and the remote

If your board isn’t turning on, has intermittent power issues, or won’t connect to your remote, the motor controller may be the cause.

Motor Controllers Are Board-Specific

Each board has its own motor controller — they’re not cross-compatible. Be sure to match the controller with your board model. If you’re not 100% sure, feel free to reach out to us.
