What to do if your board doesn't turn on after storageUpdated 24 days ago

If your board has been in storage and won’t turn on, it’s very likely the battery has dropped below its safe operating voltage. This is common with lithium-ion batteries when left unused for long periods, especially 4 to 6 months or more.

Why this happens

Lithium-ion batteries slowly discharge over time, even when not in use. If the battery is left for too long without being topped up, the cells can fall below their minimum voltage threshold. Once that happens, the BMS (Battery Management System) will prevent the board from turning on or accepting a charge, to protect the cells from further damage.

This doesn’t mean the board or charger is faulty—it means the battery has likely entered deep discharge. In many cases, this isn’t something that can be fixed at home.

What to do next

Please reach out to our tech support team. Let them know how long the board has been in storage and what happens when you try to charge or power it on. We’ll walk you through the next steps to assess the battery and determine the best solution.

Avoid trying to open or jump-start the battery yourself, this could void your warranty or damage the cells permanently.
