What Evolve “Conversion Kits” Do (and Do NOT Do)Updated 10 days ago

This article exists to prevent a common misunderstanding.
Evolve conversion kits do not turn a normal skateboard into an electric skateboard.

Short answer (what customers usually want to know)

No.
You cannot turn a standard skateboard into an electric skateboard using Evolve parts or conversion kits.

What an Evolve conversion kit actually is

An Evolve conversion kit is only for existing Evolve electric skateboards.

Its purpose is:

  • To change the wheel setup only

  • For example:

    • All Terrain → Street

    • Street → All Terrain

That’s it.

A conversion kit does not add electric power to a board.

What a conversion kit includes

A conversion kit may include items such as:

  • Wheels

  • Belts

  • Pulleys

  • Spacers

  • Hardware specific to the wheel setup

It does not include:

  • Motors

  • Battery

  • Motor controller (ESC)

  • Remote

  • Trucks

  • Wiring

  • Any electronics required to power a board

What a conversion kit does NOT do

An Evolve conversion kit does NOT:

  • Convert a normal skateboard into an electric skateboard

  • Work on non-Evolve decks

  • Include a remote

  • Include electronics or power components

  • Make a skateboard electric in any way

If a board is not already electric, a conversion kit will not change that.

Why converting a normal skateboard isn’t supported

Turning a standard skateboard into an electric skateboard would require:

  • Motors

  • Battery

  • Motor controller

  • Remote

  • Wiring

  • Mounts

  • Structural reinforcement

  • Software and firmware compatibility

Evolve does not sell this as a kit, does not support it, and does not recommend it.

In practice, attempting this would cost more than buying a complete electric skateboard, and would not be supported or safe.
