What Are the Main Components of an Evolve Skateboard?Updated a month ago

Every Evolve electric skateboard is built with a combination of high-performance parts designed to work together seamlessly. While different models may have variations in design and materials, most boards share these essential components:

1. Deck

  • The base of your board, providing structure and support.
  • Available in carbon fibre (for strength and aerodynamics) or bamboo (for flex and comfort).

2. Battery (with BMS)

  • Powers the board and determines range.
  • Includes a Battery Management System (BMS) to regulate performance and safety.

3. Motor Controller (ESC)

  • The “brain” of the board, controlling power delivery to the motors.
  • Interprets remote inputs for acceleration, braking, and speed control.

4. Motors

  • Most boards have dual brushless outrunner motors mounted on the rear.
  • Different power outputs depending on the board model.

5. Trucks (Double Kingpin)

  • Connect the wheels to the deck and allow for turning and carving.
  • Double kingpin trucks offer deeper carving and provide stability.

6. Wheels (Street or All-Terrain)

  • Street wheels (e.g., 85mm, 97mm, 105mm, 107mm) for smooth pavement and high-speed carving.
  • All-Terrain (AT) tyres (e.g., 150mm, 175mm) for off-road and rougher surfaces.

7. Belts & Drive Gears

  • The belt drive system transfers power from the motors to the wheels.
  • Gears and belts vary based on wheel size and terrain preference.

8. Bushings

  • Soft urethane components inside the trucks that impact turning and responsiveness.
  • Each truck has 2 x barrels and 2 x cone bushings for customisable feel.
