If your Phaze Remote appears completely unresponsive — no display, no reaction to button presses — it might be in sleep mode (also known as Smart Start - here's the User Manual).

This feature activates automatically after 5 minutes of inactivity to save battery life. When the remote is in sleep mode:

• The screen stays black

• Buttons appear unresponsive

• Charging lights still function (blue when powered on, red when charging)

Here’s how to wake it up:

1. Hold the brake trigger for a moment.

2. If successful, your board’s deck lights will flash, and the remote will power on.

3. You’re ready to ride.

If this doesn’t work and your screen remains black with no activity, even after charging and holding buttons, your remote may need further inspection.
