Getting a Heat Warning on Your GTR, Hadean, Stoke… or Using a Phaze Remote on a Series 1?Updated 13 days ago

If you’re seeing a heat warning on your remote shortly after turning the board on, but the motors definitely aren't hot, this usually comes down to incorrect firmware. You will receive this warning if your remote has the incorrect firmware installed.

Common Causes

  1. Incorrect firmware installed on your board
If you’re running Diablo firmware (3.14) on a non-Diablo board like the Hadean, GTR Series 2 or Stoke Series 2, it can trigger false temperature readings and warnings.

  2. Using a Phaze remote on a Series 1 board
If you’ve upgraded to a Phaze remote on a GTR Series 1 or Stoke Series 1, make sure the remote firmware is correctly matched. Using the wrong firmware here can also cause inaccurate readings.

Check Your Firmware Versions

  • Hadean: 3.09

  • GTR Series 2: 3.09

  • Stoke Series 2: 3.09

  • Diablo / Renegade Diablo: 3.14

To check:
On your Phaze remote, connect to your board, then navigate to Product Info to see what version is installed.

Fix It

  1. Update the Explore by Evolve app to the latest version.

  2. Reinstall the correct firmware for your board and remote.
