V1 or V2 represent different evolutions of technology we used in the GT Series.

The age of the board will determine which version it will pair in. Boards purchase earlier than mid-2017 with the original motor controller may pair in V1, whereas boards after mid-2017 should pair in V2.

An R2 remote will pair with any GT board. The GT Remote may need to be updated or backdated to suit certain boards as they do not carry the V1 & V2 versions.
