Battery has Charged
If the board does not charge but you know it is not flat or full, the concern will most likely be caused by the battery and we recommend contacting our tech support team.
Unsure if Battery has Charged
If you are unsure if the battery is charged, follow the below steps.
Check the Internals
- Access the internals of the board by removing the 8 bolts on top of the deck and remove the battery cover for the Carbon, or drop the battery case for the Bamboo.
- If you can see corrosion on the BMS (small circuit within the heat wrap) or notice that the battery seems swollen, appears to have leaked or there is a sharp scent, unplug it immediately and contact our tech support team.
Check the Switch
Check the switch by giving the wires a light pull to make sure they are still attached properly.
Check the Plugs
Check all the plugs by removing them from the socket and reinserting them.
- Start with the large grey and red plug that goes from the battery to the motor controller. Then check the BATSW, UART and SWITCH plugs. These will all have a small tab underneath that needs to be depressed in order to slide the plug out.

Check the Motor Controller
If the board still does not turn on, check the motor controller.
- Start by inspecting the two lines in the top of the PCB that roughly join SWITCH to BATSW.
- If they are very dark or show corrosion, this will be the likely cause and the motor controller will likely need to be replaced. Contact our tech support team with a photo and details of your concern.
ON/OFF Switch
When the board is turned on, check for a green flashing LED in the motor controller (you should be able to see the flash from the side).
If this LED flashes, the board should operate but could indicate that the ON/OFF switch isn't working. In this case, contact our tech support team to request a replacement ON/OFF switch.
