GTR Carbon Series 1 - Reduced RangeUpdated a month ago

Many factors can affect overall range, including riding style, terrain, environment, ambient temperature, battery age, tyre pressure, and rider weight. If you've noticed a sharp decrease in range and don't believe it’s due to any of these factors, read on.

Ambient Temperature

Batteries perform best at around 25°C, which is the temperature our advertised range is based on.

  • At 10°C, a lithium-ion battery can lose around 25% of its power.
  • At 0°C, this loss can be as much as 50%.

If you're riding in temperatures below 15°C, you will likely see a noticeable reduction in range.

Tyre Pressure – The Most Common Cause

All-terrain tyre pressure must be monitored regularly.

  • The recommended PSI is between 40 and 50.
  • Tyres at 20 PSI or lower can more than halve your range due to increased rolling resistance.

Other Troubleshooting Steps

If you suspect the issue is with the board itself and not one of the above factors, try recalibrating the Battery Management System (BMS):

  1. Ride the board until it completely turns off – keep riding past 0% until the board no longer powers on (blue power light off).
  2. Charge the board to full in a single charge – wait until the charger light turns green.
  3. Repeat this process twice – this should help recalibrate the BMS.

If the board is still experiencing reduced range or the battery percentage is not dropping in 1% increments, contact our tech support team for further assistance.
