GTR - Not Getting Advertised Top SpeedUpdated 2 years ago

Speed Limit

If the speed metric (kph/mph) is yellow on the remote, this indicates that the Speed Limit is on.

Alter the Speed Limit on the Remote

  1. Turn the remote on.
  2. Double-click the ON/OFF button to open the menu.
  3. Using the mode buttons, scroll down to 'Speed Limit' and click the ON/OFF button once to enter.
  4. Select the desired Speed Limit or OFF, then press the ON/OFF button to select.
  5. The selection will be ticked. Scroll down to 'Return' then click the ON/OFF button to return to the main screen.

Wheels Settings

If the wheel settings are incorrect, the speed and trip distance will also be incorrect.

Check the size of your wheel by looking for the number on the side.

  • Street Wheels eg. 107mm, 97mm or 83mm
  • All-Terrain Tyre eg. 175x50 or 200x50. The first number is the tyre size in mm, so 175mm or 200mm.

Check the drive gear size by finding the belt number written on the belt, or physically counting the teeth on the drive gear.

Belt Numbers

  • GT-001 = 66T Gear
  • GT-003 = 32T Gear
  • GT-004 = 38T Gear
  • GT-006 = 47T Gear

Alter the Wheel Settings on the Remote

  1. Turn the remote on
  2. Double-click the ON/OFF button to open the menu.
  3. 'Wheel Settings' should be highlighted, click the ON/OFF button once to enter.
  4. Using the mode buttons select the correct Wheel Settings, and press the ON/OFF button once to select.

Low Charge

The GTR board will be its fastest when the battery has full charge.  As you use the skateboard the battery is losing power which results in a reduction in top speed during the ride.  Top speed will slowly reduce as the battery loses power.

Other

If you are still not reaching top speed on a flat paved surface with a full battery, read on.

  1. Tyre Pressure: All-Terrain tyres below 40 PSI will reduce your top speed due to the added resistance. Inflate the tyres between 40 and 50 PSI.
  2. Rider Weight: The advertised top speed is based on an 85kg rider. If you are above this, you may experience slightly less top speed.
  3. Speed Fluctuation: If the speed reading fluctuates more than 2kph, it could indicate a motor concern and we would recommend checking out the Motor Concerns article.

If you have checked all of the above and still experience concerns, contact our tech support team with the details and the steps you have taken.
