GTR Carbon Series 1 - Board Doesn't ChargeUpdated a month ago

If your GTR Carbon Series 1 isn’t charging, follow these steps to diagnose and resolve the issue.

Step 1: Check the Charger and Charge Port

Before assuming the board has an issue, inspect the charger and charge port:

  • Check for physical damage – Look for any cuts, burns, or broken connections on the charger cable and plug. If damaged, stop using it immediately.
  • Inspect the charge port – If there’s debris inside or the charger won’t fully insert, do not force it. Contact tech support for assistance.

Step 2: Check the Charger Lights

Your charger’s LED will indicate its status:

  • Solid Green – The charger is powered but not actively charging.
  • Solid Red & fan turns on – The board is actively charging.
  • Flashing Red or cycling Red-Green – This may indicate a charger fault. If the issue persists with multiple boards, the charger likely needs replacing.

Step 3: Isolate the Issue (Board vs Charger)

If possible, test your charger with another compatible board or try a different working charger on your board:

  • If your charger doesn’t charge any board, the charger is faulty and will need replacement.
  • If another charger works on your board but yours doesn’t, the issue is with your charger.
  • If your charger works on another board but not yours, the issue is with your board—continue troubleshooting below.

Step 4: If the Issue is Isolated to the Board

Unlike other models, the GTR Carbon Series 1’s battery cannot be opened without voiding the warranty. If you’ve determined the charger is working but your board still won’t charge, you will need to contact tech support.

Step 5: Board Not Charging to Full

If your board stops charging before reaching 100%, try the following:

  • Plug directly into a wall socket – Avoid power strips, converters, or generators.
  • Try a different outlet – The power source may be the issue.

If your board still isn’t fully charging:

  • Test the charger on another board – If it doesn’t fully charge either board, it needs replacing.
  • If another board charges fully but yours doesn’t, the issue is likely with the board—contact tech support.
