GTR - Board Doesn't ChargeUpdated 2 years ago

Not Charging At All

Check for Physical Damage

  1. Assess the charger, cables and plug for damage, breaks, cuts or burns. If the charger is damaged, dispose of it and do not use it.
  2. Assess the charge port. If you find debris or the charger will not go all the way in, contact our tech support team.

Check the Lights on the Charger

  • Solid Green: Fully charged and not plugged into a board.
  • Solid Red: Charging a board.
  • Flashing Red/Flashing Red then Green: This indicates a concern with the charger if it does the same with other boards and will need replacement.

Isolate the Concern
Isolate the concern to either the board or the charger. If you have access to the same series board and charger that is known to work, try using both chargers with both boards.

  1. If your charger doesn't charge either board, the concern will be with the charger and it will require replacement.
  2. If both chargers charge one board and not the other, the concern will be with the board. If this is the case, please continue troubleshooting below.

Isolated to the Board
If isolated to the board or you don't have access to the same series board and charger, assess the charge port connector.

  • Bamboo GTR/Stoke: Unfortunately, there is no way to check the charge port connector without voiding the warranty. We recommend contacting your regional distributor.
  • Carbon GTR:

    1. Remove the battery cover/seal by undoing the 15 bolts in the gripped part of the deck.
    2. Disconnect the 2 plugs from the battery/motor controller, then reconnect. Both plugs have guide teeth and arrows to ensure the connector is in the correct way.
    3. Disconnect the red/purple/black charge port cable and reconnect.
    4. If this doesn't alleviate your concern, we recommend contacting our tech support team.

Not Charging to Full

Power Source
If charging stops before 100%, start by trying a different powerpoint that plugs directly into the wall (it may not charge properly from a generator or converter).

Isolate the Concern
Isolate the concern to the board or the charger. If you have access to the same series board and charger that is known to work, try using both chargers with both boards.

  1. If your charger doesn't charge either board to full, the concern will be with the charger and it will require replacement.
  2. If both chargers fully charge one board and not the other, the concern will be with the board. If this is the case, please contact our tech support team with the details and the steps you have taken.
