Hadean Carbon - Remote ConcernsUpdated 8 days ago

If you're experiencing issues with your Phaze remote, such as connection problems, difficulty changing speed modes, the remote not turning off, erratic board response, or general connectivity concerns, follow these steps to diagnose and resolve the issue.

1. Check If the Remote Is in Sleep Mode

If the remote appears unresponsive or won’t turn on, it may be in Sleep Mode to conserve battery.

  • Solution: Lift the remote to a level position or press the ON/OFF button to wake it up.
  • If the issue persists, check the Power Save settings in the remote menu.

2. Check the Remote's Physical Condition

Ensure the remote is free from visible damage and that all components are functioning correctly.

Check the Brake Trigger:

  • Fully press the brake trigger, then slowly release it.
  • There should be firm pressure during movement, and it should return smoothly to position.
  • If the trigger feels loose or unresponsive, it may require recalibration or servicing.

Check the Remote Housing:

  • Inspect for any gaps between the left and right halves of the casing.
  • If there's a gap near the brake trigger, apply light pressure to snap it back into place.
  • If the housing is loose around the LCD screen or ON/OFF switch, it may require repair.

3. Perform a Trigger Calibration

If the board isn’t responding correctly to throttle or braking inputs, calibrating the trigger may resolve the issue.

Trigger Calibration Steps:

  1. Ensure the skateboard is turned off.
  2. Press the ON/OFF button on the remote.
  3. Double-click the ON/OFF button to access the menu.
  4. Scroll using the mode buttons to Trigger Setup and select it.
  5. Follow the on-screen prompts to calibrate the triggers.

4. Understanding Power Save & Smart Start

The Phaze remote has built-in power-saving functions that may affect how it behaves.

Power Save Mode

  • If the remote tilts at a low angle, the screen will turn off after 1 minute to conserve battery.
  • To wake it up, lift the remote to a level position.
  • You can enable/disable this in the Options menu under ‘Power Save.’

Sleep Mode

  • If the board isn’t used for 5 minutes, it enters Sleep Mode.
  • After 3 hours, the board powers off completely.
  • To restart, turn the board back on using the ON/OFF button.

Smart Start

  • If the board is in Sleep Mode, you can wake it up by pressing the brake trigger.

5. Further Assistance
