Hadean Bamboo - Odd NoisesUpdated a month ago

Your board has multiple moving parts, and various noises can indicate different issues. Here’s how to identify and resolve them.

Rattling or Clicking

A loose nut, bolt, or damaged bearing could be the cause. Try to pinpoint the source:

  • Wheels – Spin each wheel. Bearings should move smoothly with slight resistance. If rough or noisy, replace them.
  • Board Hardware – Check and tighten all nuts and bolts.
  • Driveline – Remove wheels, bearings, belts, and drive gears. Ensure bearings spin freely, belts are free of debris, and bolts are tight.
  • Motor– With the driveline disassembled, turn the board on and accelerate using the remote.
    • If the noise persists, the motor may be the issue—contact tech support.
    • If the noise disappears, reassemble one side at a time to isolate the problem.

Squeaking

  • Bushings & Pivot Cups – Dry hardware can cause squeaking. Lubricate these components as shown in our maintenance video.
  • Bamboo Deck – If exposed to moisture, bamboo decks can dry out and creak. Lightly sanding and resealing may help.

Rubbing Noises

Usually caused by the driveline:

  • Belts – If a belt is rubbing the gear or belt cover, inspect for damage. Replace if needed.
  • Tyres – All-terrain tyres may contact the belt cover. Adding a speed ring between the inner wheel bearing and drive gear can create extra clearance. Inflate tyres, they might be below their optimal PSI.

Grinding

  • Bearings – If grinding, replace all bearings.
  • Motor – If a grinding noise comes from the motor, contact tech support with a short video for further assessment.

If the noise persists after following these steps, reach out to our tech team for guidance. 🚀
